Our newest and most ambitious affordable housing development to date has broken ground! Executive Director, Peter Kilde, joined fellow project partners from the Gerrard Corporation, Merchants Bank, N.A., WHEDA, Cornerstone Architects, and Eau Claire City Council at the building site on Birch Street in Eau Claire on Thursday, June 13 to kick-off the Prairie Heights development.
This 60-unit multi-family housing development will welcome individuals and families earning between 30% and 80% of the county median income, offering spacious and modern one, two, and three-bedroom apartments. The climate conscious development will include photovoltaic solar panels, geothermal technology, and air-source heat pumps, dramatically reducing the carbon emissions produced by the development and its future inhabitants over the long-term.
