Peter had a recent visit from Jana Rose Schleis, an investigative reporter for the Cap Times local news publication based in Madison. Peter climbed to the rooftop of one of our greenest affordable housing developments, the 1300 Residences in River Falls, to share his perspective and insight on how West CAP pushes for solar to save for renters, and some of the the roadblocks, or “sun” blocks in our way. LOCAL ATV CLUB RAISES $4,210 FOR HOLIDAY GIFT DRIVE

A local ATV Club, the Glenwood Forest Barn Stormers, holds a benefit ride each year to support a cause they care about. For the last two years, the proceeds from their fundraiser have gone to support West CAP’s annual Holiday Gift drive, which provides holiday gifts and essentials for area youth in need. St. John’s Youth Donate Kits to West CAP’s Homeless Intervention Program

West CAP staff were surprised by a recent donation of 25 kits for our Homeless Intervention Program! A group of Faith Formation youth from Glenwood City’s St. John The Baptist Catholic Church collected donations of towels, blankets, socks and hygiene products to create 25 kits as a service project to help families in need through West CAP’s Homeless Intervention services. WERA: Wisconsin Emergency Rental Assistance Program
Set to Close January 31

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE1/20/2023 The Governor’s office announced the upcoming closing of the federally funded Wisconsin Emergency Rental Assistance program (WERA).  Applications are set to close on January 31, 2023 due to low remaining funds available.  Housing stability services will continue even after rental benefit funds are exhausted. WERA launched in February 2021 to help families avoid homelessness due to pandemic-related financial hardship.
