“When I first came to West CAP, I was homeless and staying at the local women’s shelter. West CAP helped me get housing, they helped pay for gas and books so I could earn my CNA, and they helped me set goals for my future.”
Carrie Kittelson has overcome incredible obstacles, including abuse and homelessness, to get where she is today. Last month, on December 20th, she graduated from CVTC-River Falls with a nursing degree. She has already been offered a full-time job in hospice care, and her story was recently featured in CVTC’s website. As a former participant in West CAP’s Homeless Intervention program and Adult Education program, Carrie took every opportunity to set and reach goals to improve her and her children’s futures. While working with West CAP, she obtained her CNA and over time, worked to obtain her associate’s degree in nursing.
