CAP Town Homes tenants in Clayton, WI are the lucky new recipients of two Red Regent apple trees! Pictured above are West CAP Tenant Manager and Green Team member, Mikayla Nordby (L), with Jenny Bergmann of Bergmann’s Greenhouses (R), who planted the trees together on a warm September afternoon. West CAP received a sustainability grant from Associated Banj to offset our agency’s carbon footprint and incorporate West CAP’s Green Team’s new sustainable practices within West CAP-owned facilities. One of these practices included bringing two fruit trees to our affordable housing property in Clayton. Fruit trees provide free, healthy food for residents, add to the beauty of the space, and support an eco-friendly environment.
We are grateful for this grant opportunity and for the immense local support from Jenny Bergmann at Bergmann’s Greenhouse in Clayton for providing discounted trees, supplies, equipment – and for getting hands-on to help us make this dream a reality.
