August 14, 2024 This week West CAP Executive Director, Peter Kilde, shared with the West CAP Board of Directors and staff that he plans to retire at the end of January 2025. Peter’s visionary guidance over the past three decades has brought extraordinary growth and advancement to the agency. During his tenure, he has served in various leadership roles within America’s 1,000 agency Community Action Program (CAP) network, moving from President of our state CAP Association, WISCAP, to becoming regional association President, then on to 20 years of service in varying capacities on the board of the National Community Action Partnership. Here he will continue to serve as co-chair of the National Partnership for Climate Resilience which he was instrumental in getting established in his final term. Kilde also served, or now serves, on numerous regional and national organization boards and advisory groups in the fields of social and economic justice and environmental sustainability. To ensure a smooth and successful leadership transition, Peter is assisting West CAP’s Board of Directors in implementing a leadership succession plan in anticipation of his retirement. West CAP’s Board of Directors will soon begin to plan the Executive Director recruitment. Most importantly, a fabulous celebration will be held in honor of Peter’s retirement and good work. Details to come! |
“It’s been a wonderful journey in the larger CAP world, but the greatest privilege and pleasure in my long career has been serving as ED for the remarkable and dedicated staff and board of West CAP in our shared mission to serve the needs of our Wisconsin neighbors experiencing financial hardship while also working to create a more just and sustainable society.”
Peter H. Kilde
