COMMODITY SUPPLEMENTAL FOOD PROGRAM

The Commodity Supplemental Food Program (CSFP) works to improve the health of low income adults age 60+ years by supplementing their diets with nutritious USDA foods.  The monthly food package, worth about $35, is available at no cost to eligible individuals. The foods are intended to be a supplement and do not provide a complete diet.

CSFP provides a monthly supplemental food package that will typically include the items listed below. If you have two people in your household that qualify then you will get two boxes! 

  • 2-pound block of cheese
  • Peanut Butter
  • Juice
  • Pasta and/or Rice
  • Canned meats and beans
  • Canned Vegetables
  • Canned Fruit
  • Shelf stable milk
  • Cereal

Eligibility: Must be age 60 or older and at or below $1,580 for 1 person or $2,137 for 2 persons, or otherwise meet the income guidelines based on your household size. Serving:

Where are all of the CSFP Distribution Sites?

West CAP’s CSFP program serves a total of nine counties: Barron, Chippewa, Dunn, Eau Claire, Pepin, Pierce, Polk, Rusk and St. Croix Counties. There is a distribution site within each county and include the communities of: Boyceville, Hudson, Ellsworth, River Falls, Plum City, Osceola, Frederic, St. Croix Falls, Clear Lake, Woodville, Barron, Rice Lake, Durand, Ladysmith, Chippewa Falls, Eau Claire, and Menomonie.

How to apply for CSFP?

Fill out pre-registration forms at designated host sites or call below to pre-register. Bring proof of address and knowledge of your gross monthly income. After you are signed up you will be able to pick up your commodities once per month at designated sites, or you can send a proxy to pick up on your behalf.

These income eligibility amounts are effective as of February 7, 2024, and are based on 130% of the U.S. Dept. of Health and Human Services 2024 Poverty Guidelines. When reviewing your eligibility, use total gross income (before taxes and deductions) of all household members.   Every 60+ year-old household member is eligible to receive their own monthly food package.
