Calvin’s Story

“I was homeless and living on the street on and off at a homeless shelter (Sojourner House). This had been going on for over three years. I had more or less given up on getting any help on housing assistance. I was homeless because of physical health problems and unable to work as a carpenter, or for that matter, stand for any length of time. My mental health was also spinning out of control. One day, I was able to meet a case manager from West CAP. She was a really nice person and gave me hope. Approximately two months later she said, “I think I may have an apartment for you”. Three days later, I moved in. Everything turned around for me. This was truly a life changing event for me. Five years later I am doing great! I am truly blessed that West CAP came into my life. A big shout out and thumbs up for the three case workers I’ve had. Very caring and helpful people. God bless you West CAP.”
